Way too chocolatey trail bars….

I have been experimenting away in the kitchen, combining this and that, trying create the perfect trail bar. This recipe is for chocolate loves only.  I repeat, for chocolate lovers only! But try it out….if you love chocolate!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1-1/2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1-1/2 cups rice crispies
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 tbsp ground flax
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup coconut

Optional

  • protein powder 1 or 2 scoops
  • finely ground espresso (my favourite for a caffeine boost)

Instructions:

  1. combine cocoa, oats, rice crispies, peanuts, walnuts, flax, chocolate chips, coconut, and salt in a large bowl. Set aside.
